  • Anamika Khanna is a leading Indian designer who started off by winning the Damania Fashion award in the year 1995. Anamika Khanna attended the Mahadevi Birla Girls High School and later graduated from Loreto College. This self taught designer has not received any formal training in fashion designing and technology. However her flair for designing is evident from her pioneering designs showcased at the most prestigious fashion fiestas worldwide.
    Anamika Khanna retails her attires at a various reputed outlets like Carma in New Delhi, Ogaan in New Delhi & Kolkata, Ensemble in Mumbai & New Delhi, Espee in Kolkata, Ffolio in Bangalore and Chennai, Kimaya, and Elahe among others.
    Anamika loves to design sarees and her favorite color being white. Anamika Khanna’s work includes two lines - Prêt and Couture and she specializes in trousseau wear. Her designs are dominated by color and craft thus rendering a global appeal to her rather ethnic creations. Her prêt line gives an entirely new meaning to trendy and quirky look. Anamika Khanna blends together ethnic and western concepts that allure the fashion conscious people from all over the world. Anamika Khanna has a diverse portfolio of clients in countries like Spain, UK, USA, Japan, Thailand, The Middle East etc.
    Anamika has a flagship store in Kolkata that houses the best and most exclusive designs of hers. Moreover her international high fashion luxury label Ana Mika was launched in the year 2004. Ana Mika is an established brand in UK with full scale sales and stockists all over the world. The international brand Ana Mika is available in around three hundred stores in UK, US, Europe, South East Asia, Middle East in high end stores like Le Bon Marche, Lane Crawford, Tomorrowland Edition, Baycrews, Villa Moda, Saks etc. 
    Her international expedition began when after the London Fashion Week, she was approached by British major Harrods to showcase her designs at their store. She later supplied her creations to The Cross, Press Boutique, Feathers, and Questionnaire etc. Anamika’s designs have been showcased at Lakme India Fashion Week, Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, and Paris Fashion Week. Anamika Khanna was also invited to Pakistan as the part of Bridal Asia to display her bridal collection; this was the first time that Indian designers showcased their collection in Pakistan.

    The designer who started her fashion designing career with the Damania Award has also won the Damania Fashion Hall of Fame honor. She received several awards including, the Exports Council Award, the Texcellence Award for Outstanding Boutique and the Kingfisher Designer of the Year Award in 2004. She was later nominated at the MTV Youth Icon Awards as the Breakthrough Designer of the Year, at the F Awards as the Designer of the Year (Women - Prêt), 2004 and at the MTV Lycra Style Awards 2004 as the Designer of the Year.
    Anamika Khanna was honored with the Madhurar Gaurav Award by the Rajasthan Foundation, Kolkata chapter and FICCI’s Young Woman Achiever Award in 2006. She was also named among the fifty style icons of the year by Elle and featured in Verve power. Anamika Khanna’s riveting designs have been featured in international publications like Glamour, Paris, Vogue, UK and Vogue Best Buy.

    Awards

    In 2004, Anamika Khanna won the Texcellence Award in the category of Outstanding Boutique among all the female fashion designers. In the same year, she also won the Kingfisher Award in the category of Fashion Designer of the Year. In 2006, Anamika Khanna won the FICCI Ladies Organization’s Young Woman Achiever’s Award. In 2007, Anamika Khanna received the Marudhar Gaurav Award from the Rajasthan Foundation, Kolkata.] In 2008, she was given the FICCI Ladies Organization Woman of Substance Award. [In 2010, she received the Bharat Nirman Award. 2011 saw Anamika Khanna win the Audi RITZ Icon Award.In the same year, she received the She Award. Anamika Khanna has also won the Export Council Award.

    Bollywood and Anamika

    Anamika Khanna’s designs have been worn by Bollywood actresses in movies like ‘Mausam’, ‘Fashion’, ‘Aisha’ and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’. Her designed outfits will be worn by Sonam Kapoor in the upcoming movie ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ starring Salman Khan. Anamika Khanna has designed the outfits that Simi Garewal wore in her talk show: ‘Simi Selects:India’s Most Desirable’.Anamika Khanna designed the 10 kg velvet lehenga that was studded with pearls, gold and silverand was given as a gift by Simi Garewal to Lady Gaga – her celebrity guest at her talk show: ‘Simi Selects: India’s Most Desirable.
